HNT #42 - Men In Black.

The good guys dress in black, remember that,
Just in case we ever face to face and make contact.
The title held by me... M.I.B. ...

... Here come the Men in Black. (Men in Black)
The galaxy defenders. (uh oh, uh oh)

Here come the Men in Black. (Men in Black)

They won't let you remember. (won't remember)

(uh uh, uh uh)

- P. Rushen, T. Mcfadden, W. Smith, F. Washington

Apologies for the fact that you only get MAN in black, not MEN in black, but I figure you will let me off as I am giving you quality, not quantity. Those that feel they have been mislead can ask for a refund at the door (good luck with that).
There probably won't be any posts next week as I will be out of town for a seminar. A change of scenery might recharge the creative batteries.

Go see Os to meet this week's players.

Happy Easter All.

HNT #41 - The Gambler.

You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em,
Know when to walk away and know when to run.
You never count your money when you're sittin' at the table.
There'll be time enough for countin' when the dealin's done.

Now ev'ry gambler knows that the secret to survivin'
Is knowin' what to throw away and knowing what to keep.
cause ev'ry hands a winner and ev'ry hands a loser,

And the best that you can hope for is to die in your sleep.
- D. Schlitz (performed by Kenny Rogers)

(it's a click thru this week)

I have all but run out of ideas for HNT's based on song lyrics. I know there must be 100's of them that wouldn't be to hard to put together but I just seem to draw a blank at the moment. I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions that you might have.
Os has the full list of HNT participants for this week.

HNT #40 - Helping Hand

Everybody needs a helping hand
Take a look at your fellow man
And tell me what can I do today
'Cause everybody needs a helping out
If that ain't what it's all about
Tell me what
What can I do
What can I do today
- B. Darnell, T. Sims, & A. Grant
(performed by Amy Grant)

Os has all the other HNT players for this week.

Apologies for the lack of a HNT last week. Doctor's appointments and subsequent examinations on a troublesome shoulder conspired to rob me of any spare time that I may have otherwise had. The shoulder issue hasn't been resolved yet but I am ever optimistic.

HNT #39 - Tangled Up In Blue.

Early one mornin' the sun was shinin',
I was layin' in bed
Wondrin' if she'd changed at all
If her hair was still red...

...Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through,
Tangled up in blue.
- B. Dylan

Pay a visit to Os to meet the other HNT players.

HNT #38 - Cover of the Rolling Stone.

We take all kind of pills to give us all kind of thrills but the thrill we've never known
Is the thrill that'll getcha, when you get your picture, on the cover of the Rolling Stone.
Rolling Stone wanna see my picture on the cover-
Stone- wanna buy 5 copies for my mother-
Stone- wanna see my smilin' face
on the cover of the Rolling Stone.
- S. Silverstein (Dr Hook)

Well, I can't see my smiling face on the cover of Rolling Stone either, but this is probably as close as I am ever going to get.
Go see Os to see who else is starring in their own HNT this week.

HNT #37 - Guitar Man.

He can make you love, he can make you cry
He will bring you down, then he'll get you high
Somethin' keeps him goin', miles and miles a day
To find another place to play.

Night after night who treats you right,
Baby its the guitar man
Who's on the radio, you go listen
To the guitar man
- D. Gates (Bread)

When you are finished with the Guitar man then I suggest you go see Os to see who else is playing this week.

HNT #36 - Another Brick In The Wall (Part 3)

I don't need no arms around me
And I dont need no drugs to calm me.
I have seen the writing on the wall.
Don't think I need anything at all.
No! Don't think I'll need anything at all.
All in all it was all just bricks in the wall.
All in all you were all just bricks in the wall.
(R. Waters)

HNT #35 - Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2)

We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall.
All in all you're just another brick in the wall.
- (R. Waters)

(more bricks to click)

As always, proceed to Os's place to meet the rest of the players.

HNT #34 - Another Brick In The Wall (Part 1)

Daddy's flown across the ocean
Leaving just a memory
A snap shot in the family album
Daddy what else did you leave for me
Daddy what d'ya leave behind for me
All in all it was just a brick in the wall
All in all it was all just bricks in the wall
- (R. Waters)

(click the bricks)

Apologies for the lack of a HNT over the past few weeks. Children on school holidays are not conducive to HNT photography. Now that they are back getting an education I am finally able to get my trusty little camera out once more.

To meet more Half Nekkid people, pay Os a visit.

HNT #33 - The Best Of 2008.

Clean shirt, new shoes
And I don't know where I am goin' to.
Silk suit, black tie,
I don't need a reason why.
They come runnin' just as fast as they can
Coz every girl crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man.

- billy gibbons, dusty hill & frank beard (ZZ Top).

This was one of my favourite HNT's of the year, and judging by the amount of comments it received it must have been fairly popular with some of my readers. I think it is worthy of a repeat viewing, if only for the fact that it was my first click through (thanks again to Ro for showing me how), and it was the first one I based around song lyrics, a theme I have continued up to the present day. Hopefully the new year will provide me the opportunity and creativity to present more HNT's to you.

Happy New Year everybody, and go see Os to check out the rest of the 'Best of 2008'

HNT #32 - Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake!

Christmas has rolled around again, and last year I wasn't a part of the HNT scene so I missed out on the 'gift giving' theme that occurred between participants. Luckily, this year has seen the theme repeated and so I get to play along. To summarise quickly for those not familiar with the concept, we were asked to pick 3 fellow HNT bloggers that we would normally get a gift for and outline what we would get for them if we had the means to do so. Oh what fun! I chose 3 regular reader/commenters to receive my gifts. I hope they like what I got them.

My first gift goes to Ms Inconspicuous from The Seduction of Infidelity. She always leaves comments about how she likes my hands, and I know she finds a hand even more attractive if it has a band of gold on the third finger. For Ms I my gift is a hand, if she needs one.

Gift number 2 is for Dana of Amid Life's Crises. Where I live, some enterprising, tall ladies have formed a Tall Women's Club for women of tall stature to mix with other similarly built women and be able to socialise without feeling like they are standing out in the crowd. Dana has commented on her blog about this and I think she would enjoy a group such as this.

And last, but not least, a gift for a reader who has been with me almost since I started this blog. Amorous Rocker often stops by and leaves a comment or two and I do appreciate that. I don't follow the NHL, but I know she does and her team, the Dallas Stars, came close to making the finals last season and I am hoping, for her sake, that they go all the way this year. My gift, if I could give it to you, is the Stanley Cup and maybe you will get to see the real thing in 2009 as your team parades it through the streets.

For all my other readers, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with family and friends, and a happy, safe and prosperous New Year. I will be away for the next 2 weeks but I have scheduled next week's HNT to appear on the 1st of January (so let's hope it works). I look forward to your continued support in 2009.

And don't forget to pay Os a visit to see who else got gifts for Christmas.

HNT #31 - Tinsel Life.

Flipping through my collection
I need the right song for this situation
Too fast or too slow
Too high or too low
He don't know the pain that I know
The soundtrack to my life
-: Squint

No special significance to this week's lyrics, and no Christmas tree either. It was just too difficult to get a HNT shot with the Christmas tree in it so you will just have to settle for me draped in some tinsel. There is some Christmas balls in there somewhere, but I would have to turn around so you could see them. If you really want to see them then click the picture.
The lyrics just seemed to suit my fruitless search for an appropriate song about Tinsel, but not Tinsel Town. In the end, I guess it was the right song for the situation.

Os is the man to see, to find out who else played along this week. I have HNT's planned for the next few weeks but may not get to Os's to leave a comment, so be sure to check back over the Festive Season.

HNT #30 - Stretch.

Stretching out your tightness
Good enough to make you grow

Stretching out your tightness
Time to open up your whole
- Red Hot Chili Peppers

HNT #29 - I Touch Myself.

I don't want anybody else
When I think about you
I touch myself
I don't want anybody else
Oh no, oh no, oh no

- Amphlett, McEntee, Kelly, Steinberg (The Divinyls)

HNT #28 - The Whole World

He's got the rivers and the mountains in His hands,
He's got the oceans and the seas in His hands,
He's got you and he's got me in His hands,
He's got the whole world in His hands.

- traditional

HNT #27 - Scarred for Life

I fought tooth and nail, every inch of the way
I got scars...to prove it
I was in love for keeps that time
But rock'n'roll was still on my mind
She was young and true and so full of life
And the pain went deep, I was scarred for life
I was scarred, I was scarred, scarred, scarred
Scarred for life
-Anderson, Riley, Royal (Rose Tattoo)

I have a few scars on my body from various incidents and accidents. This one on my leg is probably one of my more visible one and is part of a collection of scars I got when I tried to climb some wet sea cliffs at night after having had a few too many alcoholic beverages. I was lucky I didn't kill myself.
However, physical injuries are not the only things to leave scars. Emotional traumas can also leave scars, and while the wounds aren't as visible they are still real and just as painful. I'm sure we all carry those scars somewhere deep inside us.

Today's HNT is a last minute replacement for one that I had already put together. This just seemed more appropriate given the events of today. I won't elaborate on the details except to say that a misdirected email has left me with another scar to add to my collection. You can't see it, but it's there and it hurts like hell.

Just like climbing cliffs at night, I should have known better.

For more HNT participants, go see Os.

HNT #26 - Push The Button.

If you want to take, if you want to give
When you find a meaning, you’ll find it short-lived
The gifts and opportunities that come or go or stay
The buttons there for you to push are only in the way

Buttons so vivid, your soul could seem gray
The world all around you entices you to play
Come on! Come out!

You have a choice to make

The push button glows in wait….
- The Stolen Babies

I struggled a little with ideas and time this week so this was the best I could come up with. Thinking caps on for next week.

Os is the HNT master so why not pay him a visit.

HNT #25 - Welcome To The 60's

Hey mama, welcome to the 60's
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh mama, welcome to the 60's
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Go mama, go, go, go!
- Shaiman and Wittman
from the Hairspray soundtrack

I know that this week wasn't an 'official' theme for HNT, and Os made it clear that BTE was not interested in seeing male boobies, but in the interests of community spirit (and because I couldn't think of another idea for this week) I have gone with the 'Boobies for BTE's birthday' theme. Like 'em or leave 'em, there they are and I hope that BTE had a wonderful birthday and that he gets to see a lot of boobies that are better looking than mine.

And don't forget to visit Os, the master of all things HNT.

HNT #24 - The Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead

Peter Pumpkinhead put to shame
Governments who would slur his name
Plots and sex scandals failed outright
Peter merely said
Any kind of love is alright
But he made too many enemies...
Peter Pumpkinhead was too good
Had him nailed to a chunk of wood
He died grinning on live TV
Hanging there he looked a lot like you
And an awful lot like me!
-Andy Partridge (XTC)

Trick or treat? You decide. Halloween isn't a big deal here in Australia, but I couldn't resist having a go at a Halloween themed HNT this week. Luckily I had this Jack O' Lantern novelty that I picked up on a visit to the States and so I put it to good use. As an added bonus, it fits in nicely with the XTC song that I chose to accompany the picture. I hope you like it.

For more HNT delights please visit Os.

HNT #23 - Fortune Teller.

Went to a fortune teller
To have my fortune read
I didn't know what to tell her
I had a dizzy feeling in my head

She took a hold of my palm
She said "Son you feel kind of warm"
And then she looked into a crystal ball
She said "You're in love"
(Neville)

Go and visit Os for more HNT fun.
