Wednesday Weirdness #8

Wednesday Weirdness is upon us once again, and an interesting bunch of questions they are this week. If you want to play along, or check out the other participants, then click HERE and pay the girls a visit.

1. Have you ever rode in a stolen car? What would you do if, in the middle of going somewhere, found out that the driver had stolen the car you were riding in?
To the best of my knowledge I have never been in a stolen car. I have, however, been in and driven a car that was taken without the owner's permission. Does that count as a stolen car? When I was a teenager, my mate and I used to sneak out of our houses in the middle of the night and take one of our parents cars and go joy riding. When we were finished we would return it and then go back to bed. We never got up to any trouble, we would just drive around quiet back streets and enjoy the thrill of being out so late. God knows what would have happened if we had had an accident or anything. Nowadays I am much more sensible and if I found out that a car I was in was stolen I would demand to get out right away.
Going off on a tangent here, this question reminded me of one of my favourite Bruce Springsteen songs "Stolen Car" from "The River". Springsteen just writes songs about cars so well and makes it sound almost romantic to be 'driving a stolen car, on a pitch black night'. I'm now going to drop that CD into my CD player while I answer the rest of these questions.

2. What is the most amount of money you've spent in a sex shop or porn store at one time? If you've never been to a porn store or sex shop, why?
I have never bought anything from a sex store because Mrs A would flatly refuse to use any such thing, and I have nowhere to keep something that I intended to use with a lover. The most I have spent in a porn store would be a few dollars (between $10 & $20) for some magazines. Most of my porn is stored on my computer so the kids and/or Mrs A can't find it.

3. What is the most annoying thing about one of your closest friends?
The fact that he disappears for long periods of time and no-one can get in touch with him. About 10 years ago he joined a religious commune type thing (read sect) and he only resurfaces every now and then. When he is around it is like he has never been gone, but then he will disappear again for anything up to a year at a time.

4. Have you ever taken someone's prescription medication with or without them knowing and used it for recreational purposes?
No I haven't. I'm not real big on drugs as I tend to like to stay in control of myself if I can. Getting drunk is about as out of control as I get, and that doesn't happen very often these days. Besides, no-one I know is on any kind of medication that could be used for recreational purposes (to the best of my limited drug knowledge).

5. What is at least one thing you are you insecure about?
Gee, only 1 thing? I have lots of insecurities, but the main one, and the one that has been with me the longest, is my looks or appearance. After having being teased so much as a kid because I didn't fit into a particular group, or I looked different, it is hard to accept now that people can see anything good about me. I won't go into any other insecurities because that may involve a couch session and an hourly fee.

6. What are some things that you prefer to do alone?
With 2 kids in the house there are lots of things that I would like to do alone, but seldom get a chance. Just about every activity (including showering, and often using the toilet) is accompanied by a little person curious about what you are doing. But there are some things that I just prefer to do on my own. Usually they involve concentrating and not being interrupted by questions. Things that fit into that category are pastimes like reading a book, and watching an interesting TV show or movie.

7. How would you react if you found out the anonymous babe who writes all your favorite sexy posts on her blog is really your mother?
OMG! Really?! I would be mortified. Firstly, I would be horrified that anything my mother said or did could be considered sexy. Secondly, how could I have been turned on by my own mother? That would be akin to cyber incest. Thirdly, I would have no chance of scoring with the sexy blogger now that she has turned into my mother (not that I would want to).
And as a side note, my mother has been dead for nearly 10 years now so I would want to know how she escaped the grave, turned into an anonymous babe, and came to be writing sexy blogs.

I LOVED your answers this week. =) I had a difficult time picking one thing for 5 too, lol. I chose my biggest insecurity however which is my body/appearance in general. I dislike how I look quite a bit. *Sigh*

The first part of your #7 made me laugh, lol. "Cyber incest" ewww. haha. The side note made me chuckle a bit too honestly. I'd be wondering how she accomplished that as well.

Thanks for playing! ;) =)

It drives me insane when my daughter will stand outside the toilet and ask me a question. It is never anything that important that it couldnt wait a few minutes. The joys of kids lol

AR- Yes, body/appearance is my biggest insecurity too, although HNT is helping with that. I know that you read my blog and now I feel like a goose for saying anything.

Ms SD- I know what you mean. Toileting is very rarely private in my household either.

Samantha- Internet porn is indeed a Godsend. Everything password protected and never having to worry about leaving a magazine or dvd where it can be found.

CL & Monique- I think all parents can relate to #6
